As I sit here at Los Angeles airport, after 64 years, 8 months, and 2 days, I am leaving the United States to become an expatriate. I’m not leaving to get away from anything, but to go toward something new and adventurous.
Every journey begins with the first step,
Welcome to the first entry of my blog for TravelYounger.com. The website will be up shortly, but in the meanwhile I will blog the journey through here.
This will be more than a travelogue, as I will share the thought processes that goes through my mind to boldly go with no specific termination date. Many have asked, “When are you returning?”, and the answer is “I do not know.” But I do know that there is a big world to explore, and so far I have only seen 16 countries; I look to double that over the next 12 months.
I also hope to inspire other Baby Boomers and even those not quite Baby Boomer age, and to get us out of our own way. Many people think that they cannot afford to travel or it is too challenging. I don’t believe that is true…
Millennials do it with ease!, so why can’t we Boomers?
The first 6 months are already planned, but after that all we know is that we are heading towards warmer climates as next winter approaches.
These blogs will be combined into a book and also a radio show, one of my most favorite mediums. I hope you find my journey enjoyable, and hopefully inspirational. Next stop, Spain!
