We spent just a few days in the city of Can Tho, but Kat and I both thought it was great and plan to return. It’s the 6th largest city in Vietnam, but hardly anyone knows about it! It’s almost exactly halfway between Saigon, where we left, and the southern coast of Vietnam. From there we caught our second bus ride to pick up a ferry to Phu Quoc (very comfy, BTW, in reclining seats like a rocket ship!), an island off the coast. In Can Tho we stayed at two amazing resorts which I will share more on soon.
Anyway, one of our stays at the Victoria Hotel took us on a 3.5 hour Mekong River ride, along with a 12 km bicycle ride, and a few visits to see the local businesses and people. Since the Tet (Lunar) new year is approaching, the city of Can Tho is getting all festive, just like the entire country. It’s very cool and exciting.
