7 years ago today, Kathleen and I flew to Barcelona for 4 days and then on to Nice, France, for three. Our first date was only 8 weeks prior…. And as magnificent as our trip was, it was not without it’s challenges. Growing pains…. But after seven years of doing this we have worked through (most of) them.Our room in Barcelona was directly across from the Gaudi cathedral and we could see it from our bedroom window, which was truly incredible. A few days later while having breakfast in Nice, we walked by a scooter rental place, and I’m not sure who asked who, but we ended up renting a scooter and taking it along the French Riviera coastline into Monaco and almost into Italy. Kat said it felt like something out of a movie. It was this trip that planted the seed for what we’re doing now. Every trip has to start somewhere, and that’s how our journey began.
