MONEY Magazine recently did an article on the best travel insurance, and, as a professional traveler, I have had lots of queries about that very subject. I’ve done my share of research over the past two years but never reached any solid conclusions. They contacted me and asked if I wanted to share their information and I said, “hell, yes!”

As a former financial planner and frequent reader of MONEY magazine, they have always impressed me with their awesome analysis team which could dissect these companies much better than I could. I hope you agree.

Flexibility(and patience) today are two of the most important things to keep in mind when traveling. Rules and regulations have and still can (and will) change from one week to the next–sometimes while you are in mid-flight. Yes, I had someone report that one to me, and by the time they landed the quarantine rules at their destination increased by one week.

This has impacted all travelers and the industry in general, and you need to have a backup plan. Travel insurance is something to consider because it could save you time and money. Coverage can vary and can include: trip cancellation/interruption, emergency medical expenses and even issues with baggage. Be sure to compare so you can get the best travel insurance coverage and secure your  trip plans.
